Summer semester is drawing to a close. I have no real finals next week, just my last test in Psychology on Tuesday. I was able to exempt my finals for Dynamics and Civil Systems, and Health doesn't have a final. I don't know how I got an A in Dynamics, it feels so undeserved to me, but I'll take it.
I really, REALLY want to go see Dark Knight, but I haven't been able to go. Since I don't have/want a car on campus, my options are limited. I was going to go yesterday, but I didn't know anyone and they were going to the 9:50 show (DK is 2hrs, 30 min long). I prefer to watch movies with friends I know so we can laugh or exchange remarks during breaks in the movie.
Now, a great movie I have seen is Wall-E. Pixar does an excellent job not only with their graphics and animation, but with the way they tell their stories. The movie is enjoyable for both adults and kids because there are themes that both kids and adults can understand and relate to. It was a cute movie in a cool way, it makes me feel like a kid again.
Moving on, for this coming fall semester I will be back at work for Southern Company in Birmingham. I will miss all the social interaction I have while here at Tech (and the amazing internet connection: 24 MB/s down ftw!), but look forward to earning some more experience in the business world (not to mention earning some $$$). To cope with the loneliness I will once again face, I plan on buying 1) an Xbox 360 and 2) a new LCD TV for said console 3) video games for said console. I chose the Xbox because the PS3 is too expensive and the Wii is not what I consider to be a next gen console (yes it has the cool motion sensor thing, but the graphics aren't much greater than the GameCube). The Xbox also has a lot of games I would love to play like GTA IV, Guitar Hero III (or Rockband?), Orange Box (Portal is the best game ever!), and others. So I think I will find myself adequately entertained for the long Friday nights of loneliness.
Also, even though I will not be on Georgia Tech's campus this fall, I have already purchased some football tickets to the Mississippi St., Virginia, and Florida St. home games. I am really excited about the option offense Paul Johnson is bringing, because if it is clicking, it is nearly impossible to stop or predict. So hopefully these games will be really entertaining.
Oh, almost forgot. I recently started using StumbleUpon for Firefox, which is an amazing way to truly "surf" the Internet. Anyway, I found a website called UpDown which lets you create a virtual stock portfolio starting with $1 million in cash (not real cash). You can buy and sell stock traded on the major stock exchanges and get valuable investing experience. I have only been using it for a week, but it is a really amazing website to hone one's investing skills. Try it out!
That about wraps it up for this week. I'm sorry I wasn't able to post last week, I was really busy with schoolwork. Have a great weekend!
